Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, March 16, 2006 - SEVEN Local Angus breeder recognized in Pathfinder report p ro g ram s M ore Healy Ranch LLC, o f H eppner, has been recognized nationally by the American Açgus Association for having one registered Angus cow included in the A ss o c ia tio n ’s 2005 Pathfinder Report Only 2055 o f the more than 34,000 American Angus Association members are represented in this year’s report, according to John C rouch, e x ecu tiv e vice president o f the Association with headquarters in St Joseph, MO The P ath fin d er Program identifies superior Angus cow s based upon recorded performance traits th a t are econom ically important to efficient beef p roduction These traits include early and regular calving and heavy weaning w eights, re p o rts Bill B ow m an, asso c iatio n d ire c to r o f perform ance than 1,410,000 eligible dam s were examined to determine P ath fin d er statu s. All registered Angus cows that meet the strict Pathfinder standards are listed, along with their owners, in the Pathfinder Report that is published annually by the Association The 2005 Pathfinder Report lists 8400 individual cows and 221 Pathfinder sires It is published in the April issue o f the Angus Journal and limited copies are availab le from the A ssociation. The reports appear on the Web site at www angus org. The largest number o f Pathfinder cows from a single herd this year is 75.
