The Mustangs took a 4-3 lead after a slow first quarter but got going in the second, getting six points from Taylor Kempas and fo u r each from Kylie D oh erty and A ftan Betsinger, taking a 21-15 lead at the half Regi Seitz had eight points in the third as the M ustangs extended their lead to 30-20. H eather Yocom had four points and Doherty three as they shut out the Huskies in the fourth, coasting to the 41-20 win K em pas led the Mustangs with 10 points and four steals, with Seitz added eight points, on four o f seven shooting, and six steals. After falling behind 9-8 after one, the Mustangs came back to tie it at 14-14 at the half, g etting four second quarter points from W hitney M atthew s. Regi Seitz had seven points in the third as the Mustangs pulled out to a 22-18 lead after three and Aftan Betsinger had three pints in the fourth as they held off the Rockets and took the win. The Mustangs, now 6 and 3 in the CBC and 14 and 4 overall, will finish out the reg u lar season at home against the Stanfield Tigers on Friday, Feb 11 Susan Southworth and Megan Orr each had fo u r p o in ts in the first quarter, but the Huskies took a 19-10 lead and built it to 34-17 at the half. In the first quarter, both team s scored tw o points each. In the second quarter, the Cardinals scored two points and the Goslings scored four points, leaving the score at halftime 6-4, the Goslings having a two-point lead. In the third quarter, the Cardinals scored two points again, but the G oslings scored four points, with a slight lead. Southworth hit three of four free throws, Bailey scored off a steal and Price scored inside off a pass from Rietmann to give the Mustangs a 27-16 lead at the half Orr hit a 3-pointer to open the third, then Terra Wilson scored six points and Orr scored three to make it 39-18.
