Heppner Youth Sports Academy is just around the corner The sports academy is going to be back again this June. T he aca d em y is d e s ig n e d to a llo w lo c a l students to a c c ess sports camps at a bargain rate. We don’t want to conflict w ith th ose a c tiv ities any more than p o ssib le,” said Grant. “Hopefully the kids can have a chance to access all that is offered.” Grades 9-12 will start at 3:45 p.m. and go until 8:30 p.m. A coach’s clinic will be offered June 7. The basketball clinic conducted by Gordy James and s ta ff o f W illa m e tte University will be held June 13. A n yone interested in coaching basketball at any le v e l is e n c o u r a g e d to attend. Camp sessions begin June 14 and 15. The times will be: 9-11 a.m. for grades 3-5; 12-3 p.m. for grades 6- 8; and 5-8 p.m. for grades 9- 12 . The volleyball clinic conducted by Tricia Wright and s ta ff o f W illa m e tte University will be held June 16. Camp will be held June 17-18 from 8 a.m .-12 p.m. for grades 9-12 and 1 -4 p.m. for elem entary and junior high.
