F ood s e rv ic e inspectors have made a recent visit to approve or disapprove the condition and standards of food handling in the senior c e n te r k itc h e n . The particular areas which these persons check out (m ercilessly) are sanitation and cleanliness; storage o f dry foods such as flour, cereal grains, dehydrated potatoes, etc. must be in food grade containers once opened; and storage o f frozen and refrigerated products must meet USDA standards. Also the workers are required to maintain strict standards o f personal care to meet required safe healthy conditions for all w ho com e to e a t food prepared in the kitchen and by the staff. The kitchen is subject to inspection at any time. These are important public h ealth and p u b lic safety matters to be mindful about at all times.
