EIGHT - Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, November 14, 2001 Holiday festivities get underway with Artifactory Holiday festivities will get underway in Heppner this Saturday, November 17, with the Christmas Artifactory craft fair at the Morrow County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to 37 participating vendors, a children’s comer will be provided with crafts. Lunch, provided by the Willow Valley Service Club, will be available. The $2 admission will go toward youth scholarships. Other upcoming holiday events are as follows: Nov. 19: Light Up Heppner-downtown tree owners and caretakers will put lights on the downtown trees. They are asked to plug in to test and unplug until Nov. 23. Nov. 22: Happy Thanksgiving. Nov. 23: Holiday opening at Artisan Village and Gardner's Men's Wear; downtown lights turned on. Nov. 29: Stroll Heppner and visit business open houses; Tree for Peace-organizations, school classes, businesses, churches and individuals are invited to place a red, white or blue ornament depicting "peace" on the community tree; Light Parade at 6 p.m. featuring Santa on the fire engine and decorated floats and vehicles; everyone is invited to enter and participate. Dec. 9: Afternoon HHS plans community pep assembly A community pep assembly will be held at Heppner High School this Thursday, November 15, beginning at 6 p.m. in the HHS gym. The HHS football team will advance to the quarterfinals o f the 2A football championships and will play Oakridge there on Saturday, November 17, beginning at 1 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend the assembly.
