July 27 the meeting will be held at the Pot O' Gold Cafe. All interested persons are welcome to attend. With a mixture o f the new and the old, the committee has plans to make it the greatest 20th celebration ever. Plans are under way for another Cruz-in. Dick and Lynnea Sargent have been carrying posters to Cruz- ms hither and yon to encourage attendence here in March. "The Trail Band" is in the works for Heppner’s Wee Bit O’ Ireland Celebration 2002. They have committed to entertaining us royally, as Heppner is a favorite place. Hosts are needed. Additional entertainment is in the planning stages. Research is being done for the long-promised fountain dedicated to the early Irish settlers. Some years ago donations were dedicated to this project. Since that time, the Main Street has been renovated, fountains moved, and changes made. The Committee welcomes ideas. The purpose is to enhance Heppner and add to its history. 20th Celebration button ideas? Talk to Judie Laughlin who has designed buttons for 14 years. Cara Osmin is working on scheduling of events. Welcome to new Chamber members CAPECO and Morrow County Parks, bringing the Chamber membership to 78 individuals and businesses who have invested in helping to create a positive environment where business, community, and people thrive. The Chamber encourages one and all to mark their calendars to enjoy Heppner Merchants annual sidewalk sale including a new Country Market with homemade crafts and homegrown produce. This is a great opportunity to support your local merchants and have fun at the same time. A dunk tank, chaired by Tom Wolff, and jail and bail entertainment, co-chaired by John Edmundson and Tnsh Sweeney, will be included in the Main Street activities. Take your chances on a leather recliner and two mountain bikes, currently on display at Klamath First Federal.
