long-promised
fountain
dedicated to the early Irish
settlers.
Some
years
ago
donations were dedicated to this
project. Since that time, the
Main Street has been renovated,
fountains moved, and changes
made.
The
Committee
welcomes ideas. The purpose is
to enhance Heppner and add to
its history.

Valley Service Club and the Morrow
County Unified Recreation District
for sponsoring music in the park
with Lindy Gravelle. The pre­
entertainment was a bit more than
they bargained for with deafening
claps of thunder and lightning
flashing in all directions, but all
moved to the Elks where they
enjoyed hearing from "their
hometown girl." And "hats off' to
our guys in yellow'. Once again our
local firefighters went to fight fire
rather than being able to enjoy the
music. Where would we be without
them?
Welcome to new Chamber
members CAPECO and Morrow
County Parks, bringing the Chamber
membership to 78 individuals and
businesses who have invested in
helping to create a positive
environment where business,
community, and people thrive.
The Chamber encourages one
and all to mark their calendars to
enjoy Heppner Merchants annual
sidewalk sale including a new
Country Market with homemade
crafts and homegrown produce. This
is a great opportunity to support
your local merchants and have fun
at the same time. A dunk tank,
chaired by Tom Wolff, and jail and
bail entertainment, co-chaired by
John Edmundson and Tnsh
Sweeney, will be included in the
Main Street activities. Take your
chances on a leather recliner and
two mountain bikes, currently on
display at Klamath First Federal.
Proceeds from these events will
assist the Chamber in the purchase
of seasonal banners and Christmas
during the Chamber year. Dues in

other chambers around the state

Acting Vale District Manager,
Bureau of Land Management
(BLM), issued a decision to
approve a proposed conveyance
of approximately 14.05 acres of
public land to the City of Imgon
under the authority o f the
Recreation and Public Purposes
Act. The land is located a short
distance east of Irrigon along the
south side of Highway 730.
The purpose o f the convey­
ance is to provide a location to the
City for a wastewater treatment
and disposal plant. The BLM will
retain approximately five acres at
the location for the protection of
historic resources.

30 days from the date that this
