Gun Club The weekly shoot of the Mor row County Gun Club (MCGC) was held on Sunday, March 28 at the club in Lexington. MCGC president Mark Schlichting said he was pleased with the “great turnout” again this week, as there has been all sea son. Results of the 16 yard event were as follows: first Harvey Childers, 24 of 25; second Curt Day, 23 o f 25; and third Jeff Cutsforth, 22 of 25. Twenty yard handicap results: first Jeff Cutsforth, 22 of 25; and second Mark Schlichting, 20 of 25. Five Annie Oakleys were shot with Jeff Cutsforth winning two and Curt Day, Shane Laughlin and Mick Sharp each with one. The MCGC will hold their weekly shoots every Sunday through April at noon. St. Patrick's Senior Center Bulletin Board Sixty-seven people were present for the senior dinner March 24. Members of the Episcopal Church serv ed. Bill Rowell of lone donated shredded cabbage for the meal. The April menus are not yet available. Members of the Seventh-day Adventist and Nazarene churches will serve April 7. Hearing aid assistance will be given at 10 a.m. and blood pressures taken at 11 a.m. The Nutrition Site Committee will meet at 1 p.m. Exercise class was held Tuesday and Thursday at 10 a.m.; cards were played Tuesday and Fridays at 1 p.m.; and Bingo played Friday at 7 p.m.. The Red Cross was at the center Tuesday afternoon for a blood drawing. Sue Vinson, a tenant at St. Patrick's apartments, suffered a stroke Wednesday. Mar. 24. She has been at St Anthony's hospital in Pendleton for several days. Driv ers with studded tires on their ve hicles after April 1 can be fined up to $150. “The 1997 legislature shortened the season by two weeks to re duce damage caused by the tires,” said Doug Tindall, Oregon Dept, of Transportation’s maintenance engineer. Alien invasion Aliens, some of them familiar, all of them friendly, are once again invading the Morrow County Museum on Saturday, April 10. The high point of the museum's annual month-long SciFi FANtastic display of local collections of science fiction memorabilia, INVASION is a one-day gathering of fans of science fiction books, films and TV. Beginning at 10 a.m., INVASION will feature kids' and adults' contests, games, e x h i b i t s and buymg/selling/swapping of collectibles. Costume competitions were the highlight of Iasi year's gathering and this year all costumed participants are guaranteed free admission to the museum. (Actually, everyone gets in free, added museum director Marsha Sweek.) The day will be capped by a catered no-host dinner (reservations required).
