Contestants from the Mor row County area were well- represented at the 1995 District 5 "M ake It Yourself With Wool" contest held in lone, on Saturday, Nov. 4. Fifteen par ticipants in the contest con structed outfits of at least 60 percent wool, and competed in four sewing levels: pre-teen, junior, senior and adult. Ten-year-old Sheena Christ man of lone won the pre-teen division. Christman construct ed a hunter green and navy blue plaid jumper. This is the first time she competed in the contest and for her efforts, she won a sheepskin pelt donated by Krebs Ranches. Salli McElligott of lone took a pre-teen honorable mention for her plaid jumper. McElligott won a Pendleton tote donated by Pendleton Grain Growers, Hermiston. Other competing from the Morrow County area were Erin Sheena Christman Crowell and Molly Barrow of made a black and plaid mid lone, and Kristi Worden of length jacket and plaid A-line Heppner. Crowell constructed dress. a western show jacket; Barrow, a plaid wrap skirt and Worden Hope Lutheran women plan service short children's sermon and he will read the Gospel and preside at the Sacrament of Ho ly Communion. During the worship service, the women will bring forth their thank offering boxes which will be given to the Women of the Evangelical Lu theran Church in America, which uses the money for spe cial projects around the coun try to help programs that sup port women and children. A 9 a.m. service of Holy Communion will be held at the Valby Lutheran Church, lone. Pastor Hoobing will preach on the theme, "A Surprise Visit", based on reading of Luke 19:1-10 and will preside at the Holy Communion. Sarah Carl son will accompany the con gregation on the piano for sing ing of hymns and liturgical re sponses. Dr. Jeanne Berretta will play the piano for the hymns and congregational musical re sponses. Rachel Hoobing will sing a solo entitled, "Remem ber the G ifts", and will also give the sermon.
