The state volleyball tourna ment is slated for November 11 and 12 at Springfield High school in Springfield. By Anne Morter By Anne Morter The lone lady Cardinals ran their league volleyball record to 9-0 with a win over Arlington last Thursday, Oct. 27, in Arl ington. The game against the Lady Honkers, who have just one win this season, allowed an opportunity for everyone to play and try some different positions. The Cards missed just two serves on their way to 94 per cent team serving for the game. Suzie Hiedeman led the way with six points on eight of nine serving, followed by Allison Sullivan with three points on six of six serving. Kim Bedortha set the pace in the back row with perfect six for six serve receives. Melissa McElligott aslo had 100 percent on five attempts. At the setter position, Mary Jane M cCarty and Becky Wagenblast led the way but Dawn Boor and Lyndee Min ster came off the bench to per form well. At the net, McElligott and Sullivan had 100 percent hitting and Bedortha hit six of seven and scored a kill. The lone lady Cardinals ad vance to this weekend's district volleyball tournament as the first place team from the East D ivision. The Cards are scheduled to play the West Division's first place team, Dufur, for the District Cham pionship at 5 p.m. on Saturday, N ovem ber 5, at Sherman County High School in Moro.
