Heppner opens their season with an early non-conference game. Friday, Sept. 4 at home against the Grant Union Prospectors from John Day. Coach Greg Grant greeted 30 gridders for the early morning and evening practices including seven returning offensive starters and six returning defensive starters. The motel operator will retain 10% to cover the cost o f collecting the tax, the city will retain 10% for administration and the balance will go to the Chamber of Commerce.
