What Is The Transient Room
Tax?
It is a tax collected by the hotel-motel
operator from the people that rent
rooms. It is not paid by the motel
owner or local citizens.
Why Is The Chamber
Important?
We are watching the decline of
agriculture and timber dependent
communities. It is imperative that
we all pull together to maintain the
quality of life we enjoy and to
have a viable community with
good jobs, schools, health care
and stable property values.

Why Should We Vote to Re
tain The Room Tax?
When you travel to another communi
ty you pay a room tax to support
Chamber o f Commerce and tourism
related activities in that community.
We need to do the same thing to boost
economic activity and meet expecta
