THREE - M.C Fair and Rodeo Supplement to the Heppner Gazette-Times, August 7, 1991 Sherman Murrays makes saddle Carnival offers rides, fun for everyone That all-time kid-pleaser Randy 's Funland Carnival, will once again provide hours of entertainment throughout the Morrow County Fair, August 14 through 18. Specializing in family fun, Randy Ross and his carnival from Portland will feature games, rides and conces sions for kids of all ages. PANCAKE BREAKFAST The Heppner Masonic Lodge wishes to invite all to our annual pancake breakfast on Aug. 17th 7 A.M. till 10 A.M. at the Heppner City Park. Adults: $350 Children: $150. Proceeds go for community activities. We appreciate your support! Sherman Murray of Rhea Creek Saddlery displays saddle he made for the Morrow County Rodeo calf rop ing winner. The saddle is donated each year by the Kinzua Corp, and this is the third year Murray’s company has done the work. “I know how sought after this award is,” Murray said of the calf roping saddle. He mentioned that the saddle is very well known throughout rodeo circles, and that three members of his family, a brother and two nephews, have won it. “It’s a real pleasure for me to make these saddles, living in the county as I am,” Murray said. The saddle will go on display at Gardner's Mens Wear downtown Heppner before the rodeo. Flower arranging contest Thursday The flower arranging contest will be held at the Morrow County Fairgrounds at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 15, on the platform in the main building. Information on the contest was omitted from the premium book. Anyone is eligible to enter the con test. Contestants must bring all materials, such as cut plant materials, containers, holders, ac- cessories and cutting knite or scissors. Fifteen minutes will be given for setting up. 25 minutes for making the arrangement and 10 minutes for cleanup and hearing the judge’s comments. Completed ar rangements are to remain on display until the exhibits are released on Sunday.
