Matthews tried to mount a charge Sunday on Lott's lead but fell short with a 71 on the final round Ron Bowman, also of Hcppncr, defended his first flight net cham pionship with a net three-under par 127; five strokes ahead of runner up John Edmundson Bowman also held a large nine stroke lead going into the second round and coasted in to victory with a net one under par 64 In the Calcutta, which is based on Sunday's top two man team scores.
