July 2 for a family reunion About 120 people met for a potluck dinner and a get acquainted session M any were O regon residents with others coming from M innesota, Alaska. Oklahoma. Washington. C alifornia. Nevada. Kansas and Arizona Some had never met before and a great time was had tracing the various branches of the family tree The reunion was planned by Beatrice and Judy Underwood o f Sunta Cruz. St Vincents Heart Institute. $H.90(). and the Knights Templar Eye Foundation about $.3.h00 In addition the Order gave to the Eastern Star Awards for Religious Training tE STAR L) IK scholarships varying in amounts from $500 and up. and 30 scholarships were given from the Ix s lic S Parker Fund Recipients ages ranged from l*J to 4K years Three delegates from Ruth Locusl Chapter No 32. Order o f the Faxtcm Star attended the Centennial Session o f Grand Chapter at the University o f Portland campus last week Special events and many special guests from all over the U nited States were present to celebrate 100 years o f Eastern Star Grand Chapter in Oregon Over 1300 people were in attendance in cluding 17 members from the masonic and Eastern Star Home in Forest Grove Representing this Chapter were V irginia W ilkinson. Past Grand Matron and her hushand. Dick. Katherine l.indstrom. Worthy M atron, and Carmelita Halvorsen. secretary M rs Halvorsen received an appointment to the Cancer Research C om m ittee o f Grand O ipter Distinguished guests present for the meeting were Lois Newman.
