I WO Evans, a native o f Heppner who was graduated from Heppner High School, graduated from Oregon State University in 1969 He has been active in several industry organizations, serving as president o f the Morrow County Livestock Growers, as a vice president o f the Oregon Cattlemen's Asst*, lation and a member of the Oregon Beef Coun cil for two years He is a member o f the Morrow County Rodeo Board served as chairman of the County Weed District and is a member o f the Oregon Wheat Growers league Fvans and his wife, Susan, own Fvans Ranches, a cattle and wheat operation They arc the parents of one daughter, Kelsie. age 12 Van Vcldhui/cn has a 200 acre dairy southeast o f Salem and has been a member of the Council for three years He also serves on the board of the Oregon Dairy Associa tion He was named ' Businessman of the Y e a r" in 1988 for I urner and surrounding communities Council members, during their an nual meeting in Enterprise, also ap prosed a budget of $558,966 for the fiscal year ending June 30.
