Fillies celebrale siate championship The championship game was a rematch of last year * third place game, which the Killies won 62 45 But this one was no walk in the park for Heppner Corbett opened the game with a tight man to man defense with their fine point guard. Lucia Brandon on Heppner s Lana Held and Tricia Becker on Missy Kubanks The teams traded baskets in the first period but Heppner sneaked to a 12 11 lead The Killies opened things up in the second quarter After Chance Kelly hit one of two free throws to bring the Cardinals to 18 14, Missy Ku banks hit a free throw, Missy Turner scored four points and laina Held scored off an offensive rebound with 2:32 left in the first half to push the Killy lead to 25 14 Kelly and Chris Bond, who had 10 first half points trimmed the halftime deficit to 27 20 Bond, on a pass from Brandon, lane with 4 52 to go in the third period and Corbett trailed by only 2 » 2 » But back came Heppner behind the Armory crowd Kubanks scored off a Dana Held pass.
