"Certainly this man was innocent Truly he w as the Son of Cod But Easier morning is a new day. a new beginning Easter is spring, renewal and resurrection What has tieen does not have to be any longer Life bloom*, blossoms and becomes Tragedy is turned into triumph, death into life, sorrow into singing Such is the beauty of Easter as celebrated in these line* by Phillips Brook* Tomb, thou shall not hold Him longer Death is strong, but Life is stron ger, Stronger than the dark, the light Stronger than the wrong, the rig h t. Faith and Hope triumphant say Christ will rise on Faster Day May our Easter be in the spirit of such renew al and transformation Donald A Boyce. Pastor Heppner Cmted Methodist Church There comes a time for decisions Text Luke 9 15 Palm Sunday has often been thought of as a time of decision for our Lord The road he look had no turn outs or l ' Turn signs Once the direction had boon set, that was that It was straight ahead When the issue had to be resolved. Jesus did not shirk from making such a decision How is it w ith us’ Are we making the really important decisions in life ’ Or are we likely to postpone, yes, even deliberately to avoid making major decisions’ How about us in the business of living ’ How long is our personal list of "s o m e d a ys "’ Someday I will get around to studying the Bible Someday I will make a prayer a natural part of my daily life Someday I will cheerfully accept a responsible role in the life of Ihe church Someday I'll spend more time w ith my children Someday I II find more ways of expressing my love for my spouse Someday I'll gel around to doing what I know I should do about my life diminishing those things I don't like about m yself and strengthening those things which I think are good and worthy in my life The world of our someday*, Ihe postponement* which plague our days enable lim e to become a thief robbing us of our tomorrows It was Horace who said He who postpones the hour of living rightly is like the rustic who wait* for the river to run out la-fore he crosses '' What are you waiting fo r’ There comes a point in all our lives when the waiting time has run out and the store of somedays has la-en exhausted You know that and so do I Jesus knew it too This is why he saw the first Palm Sunday as a day of decision In doing so he showed us the way He made a necessary decision and Ihe necessity of our decision are related The Rev George Iz/elt All Saints' Episcopal Church The spectre of death stalks mankind like an unwelcomed shadow always there and always close A world haunted by the possibility of nuclear annihilation echoes David's words.
