Sept. 27. the Hep pner Fillies' "C" team played their first game of the season. It was at Heppner against the lone Cardinals. The first match .was a good one for the Fillies. They were very consistent at their serves They made the Cardi nals really hustle for the ball. The Fillies won the first match with a score of 15-13. The second match wasn't quite as good for the Fillies. Their serves were still going over ts net but when the ball was received and sent back over by the Cardinals, the Fillies just weren't quite ready for the ball. The second match went to the Cardinals. 15-4. This brought the Fillies and Cardinals to a third match. There was pressure on both teams. But because it was a home game, the Fillies felt a bit more pressure. The Cardi nals were serving really well and making the Fillies hustle for the ball. The Fillies didn't have quite enough teamwork to pull through so the match and game went to the Cardi nals. The score of the third match was 15-11. "We did good for the first game." "Need more team work." "Did a good job." "The game was okay, we could have played better as a team." were a few comments from the "C" team players. "Not bad for the first game. The game mostly consisted of serves and receiving. They had more trouble with receiv ing than serving. We had a little trouble with teamwork but for the first game it's understandable." says Heppner Coach Karen Howe.
