"W"WP"t W.C.C.C. holds Ladies Invitational, 50 compete A Ladies Golf Invitational was held last Tuesday, June 22, at Willow Creek Country Club, Heppner, About 50 women from W.C.C.C., Willow Run, Boardman, rendition Country Club and the Umatilla Golf Club met for lunch and play, aaid Linda Shaw of the Heppner club, Pat EdmundHon of Heppner won the nine hole low gross for the field with a low score of 42, while Sally Green of the Boardman club won for the 18 hole with a 77. Long drive was won by Sally Green and Jean ne Smith of Pendleton. K.P, awards were won by Harriet Evans. Heppner; Sally Green; Pat Edmundson, Heppner; and Elaine Jackson of Pendle ton, Shaw reported. Nine hole low gross for W.C.C.C. players went to Har riet Evans and Marilyn Bige low who tied for first, and Jan Paustian, who placed second. Lorcna Jones placed first for low net, Harriet Pierson, second, and Annetta Padberg, third. W.C.C.C. players winning low gross for 18 holes were Bev Gunderson, first place; Lois Hunt, second; and Linda Shaw, third. Barbara Cuts forth took first low net and Dorrls Graves, Sharon Harri son and Eileen Padberg plac ed in a three-way, tie for second low net. lone junior named to U of P honor roll Michelle McElligolt of lone, a junior at the University of Porlhind. was named to the swonH semester honor roll with n 4 0 grade point average 'nil A'si. About 400 swimmers from 13 Oregon and Washington teams participat ed, shp added. Heppner swimmers placing in the meet were Eric Connor with two sixth place wins and the 13 and 14 year-old girl's free-style relay team also took a sixth place win. The Dalles swim team took first place, she concluded.
