Mr. and Mr. T. E. Messeng er Irene Padberg and Elsie Fox were Hermiston ami McNary visitors on Thursday where they visited Dolly Allstott and Florence McMil lan. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Vocomon Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Rinehart and family of Ukiah. Crystal and Amber Rinehart stayed for a few days visit with iter aunt and uncle. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Chick and family were visitors with Venice Hendrickson on Sun day. Holly Rebekah Lodge met for their regular meeting on Thursday evening with the Noble Grand in the chair. Plans were made to initiate two candidates at the Holly Lodge on June 19. a Friday evening, in a special meeting. Plans were also discussed for a cradle shower honoring Debbie Sharp. Lodge met the 4th of June for the regular meeting and practiced for initiation, and Past Noble Grand club met at the home of Gladys VanWinkle on the 5th with Mrs. VanWinkle and Mrs. Yocum as hostesses. Virginia Peck and Delpha Jones gave reports on the actions of the Rebekah Lodge assembly they recently attended in Spring field at the Rode-Way Inn. Following the regular busi ness meeting refreshments, were served by the hospitality committee. Don't forget club at the home of Leila Palmer on the next Thursday, June 11. Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Jone and Mrs. Vic Groshens were among those who were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bown, at a buffet luncheon in Hermis ton on Sunday honoring Linda Smith on her graduation from Hermiston High School. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Cuts forth and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Papineau motored to the Holiday Inn at Wilsonville. Ore., where they were guests of Gene Heliker and his band The Susanville Stage Band. Enroute there they visited a daughter of Mr. Cutsforth, Vesta Kilkenny, and enroute home they visited Mrs. Cuts forth 's mother. Minerva Den slingler in The Dalles. Jackie Papineau was taken to a hospital in Pendleton, suffering from a broken hip received in a fall at her home. Jeanette Hughes of Juneau, Alaska, has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glover Peck. Mike Peck, a nephew of Mrs. Hughes, returned home with her for an extended visit. The Committee on Women's Activities of Lexington Grange which was scheduled for Tuesday, June 9, at the Cutsforth Cabin has been changed to Monday, June S starting at 10:30 a.m. The day will consist of a potluck dinner at noon, visiting and cards in the afternoon. Hopefully, all business will be taken care of in the a.m. All CWA members are cordially invited of all the granges in Wheatland Po mona District. Mr. and Mrs. O.W. Cutsforth entertained several members of neighboring CWA groups at their mountain cabin on Mon day. A lovely potluck dinner was enjoyed and the ladies later played fun games - one of them a teacher-pupil lesson on golfing with Judy Stevens and Barbara Cutsforth taking the important parts. Those atten ding were Dorothy Ransom and Marie White from Green- mTt Grange in Boardman. Judy Stevens. Dorr is Graves, Mildred Wright and Freda Slocum from Rhea Creek, and Venice Hendrickson. Holly Rebekah Lodge met for their regular meeting Thursday evening. Proceed ing the business of the evening Debbie Sharp was honored with a cradle shower by the lodge members. The gifts were presented from a table with large building blocks and storks center with other small decorations. The cake was a very pretty creation with roses, and a baby centered with tiny cribs, shoes, etc. Punch apd coffee were served. At the start of the business of the evening the charter was draped for a departed sister. Thelma Smelhurst. This was done by girls in long white dresses. . carrying pale pink peonies, and lighting the ever-burning candle fo Oddfel lowship. Taking part were Hilda Yocom. Gladys VanWin kle. and- Virginia Peck. The meeting was presided over by the Noble Grand Joyce Buchanan. Plans were further discussed for the initia tion which is planned for June 22 at which will be initiated. A drill was planned and some' practices ' took place. There were 15 sisters present for the meet ing. Lynn Dee Devin is employed at the Tom Martin Ranch for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Buch anan spent the weekend in Hillsboro and other places in the Willamette Valley visiting friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Marshall and Leila Palmer were Port land callers on Friday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. CD. Jones motored to Hermiston on Monday to take Florence McMillan to Pendleton for an eye appointment. There they had lunch at the Bob Cool home. Mr. Jones joined the Morrow County Planning Committee at the city hall in Boardman and all enjoyed a tour of North Morrow County and dinner at the Nomad, followed by the meeting later in the evening. Gladys VanWinkle and Hil da Yocom were hostesses to the Holly Past Noble Grand club at the VanWinkle home on Friday. A lovely lunch was served at noon after which there was a short business meeting. Plans were made to do some sewing for the nursing home and a luncheon later in the year for the neighboring PNG clubs. Those present were; Dorothy Bur cham, Catie Padberg, Joyce Buchanan, Virginia Peck, Maureen Howard, Irene Padberg, Delpha Jones, and the hostesses. Mr. and Mrs. Glover Peck and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Peck motored to Moro on Friday evening to attend the gradua- , tion of the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Peck.
