Inc. on behalf of the ByJl'STINE WEATIIFRKORD Fourteen members of the Heppner Garden Club were hosted by Dr. Wallace Wolff at his suburban home on Monday night. May 11. After enjoying a potluck supper, the group looked at an owl's nest and searched for owls in the Wolff gardens, the members assem bled in the house and Presi dent Julia Hill called the May business meeting to order. A report on the April District 10 meeting was given by the four who attended. Plans were made for the arrangements of flowers which will be used at the Pioneer Picnic at the Fair grounds on May 24 A life membership was presented to Rill Rawlins who has been from its founding, a most outstanding member of the club. Two officers. President Jul ia Hill and Treasurer Babe Harris, were reinstalled, and a new vice-president Thetn Ixwe and a new secretary Adelle I -a Trace were invested wilh the duties formerly carried by Irene Swansnn and Justine Weatherford. Former club president Eleanor Gonty was the installing officer. The two outgoing officers were presented with bottle-wind chimes by the membership. A committee was appointed to implement the garden of the month program in cooperation with the Heppner-Morrow Chamber of Commerce. Irene Swanson. Theta Iowe.
