Around About ... to produce a large variety of home-made activities and worth while organizational opportunities. There has alwyas been a goodly number of citizens who volunteer help in getting many things accomplished. As my grandson and I held the last of our 1979 big discussions while I was driving him to Portland to return him to his Seattle-area parents, he stressed this matter. "People in Heppner are so friendly and so thoughtful of one another. The County Fair was a lot more fun than a great big fair. The people in the stores are really your friends not just store workers who don't really care about you. I liked all the kids I played with and went swimming with. I wish our neighborhood had 4-H, but we don't even have Boy Scouts anymore 'cause nobody will be a leader. I sure enjoyed going to the Garden Club and to those super senior citizen dinners.
