The Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon, Thursday, September 21, 1978 ELEVEN Krynn Robinson wins top 4-H Mustang football.... horsemanship award Krynn Robinson of Heppner has been awarded the E.L. "Dad" Potter Medal for advanced horsemanship, after completing a demanding set of 10 movements before judge Ron Davis at the Gilliam County Fairgrounds. The award is given only upon reaching the highest level of 4-H horsemanship, with only 310 Oregon riders having earned the medal since it was first awarded in 1956. Krynn becomes the first Morrow Countian to receive the award. The medal comm emorates E.L, Potter, Profes sor emeritus at Oregon State University. The achievement caps a nine-year commitment to 4-H horsemanship by Krynn, "It's a goal I set for myself," she said. Krynn, who has also been active in several other 4-H livestock and home eco nomics programs, will enter BMCC this fall, majoring in agribusiness. She hopes some day to operate a horse ranch. Krynn collected a carload of awards during the recent Wallowa County Fair Open Horse Show in Enterprise, capturing first place honors in seven classes with her Jaeleap Yearzadeei the reserve high point horse of the show. Besides being named high point junior rider, Robinson won first place Arabian geld ing (four and older), stock seat equitation, western plea sure (17 and under), bareback equitation (14-17), versatility, English pleasure, and the jackpot western pleasure championship. Eighth jraders on the junior high team include Roger Childers, Craig Gutierrez, Ronnie Jacks, Jeff Key, Troy Lindstrom, Vince McElligott, Tim Patton, Dennis Papineau, Denny Starr and Donnie Taylor. Seventh graders on the team are Scott Barnett, Craig Hams, Howard Levitt, Darrin Padberg, Andy Rob erts, Larry Sullivan and Steve Millman. Sixth grade team members include Randy Robb, Mark Meyers, and Donnie Doherty . Jim Jepsen is the team's manager. Coaching the fledgling Card inals is Jerry Martin. Kinzua school reunion held last Saturday A reunion of those who attended the Kinzua school was held in Kinzua Saturday, Sept. 16. The potluck picnic was held in Jeff more Hall owing to the chilly weather. The classmates gathered again in the evening for a dance at the hall. Records from the 50's and 60 's provided the background for a little dancing and a lot of talking. The reunion was organized by Dinah Jackson, Roberta Conlee and Harold Mangum. They had many able assist ants, including Sharon Man gum, Steve Conlee, Patsy McMinn and Mavis Oyler. Daughter born to George & Melissa Rex George and Melissa Rex of lone are parents of a new daughter born Sept. 12 at 6:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Hospi tal in Hermiston. Allison Lindsey weighed 8-lbs., 12-oz. at birth and joins a sister Molly Luann, at home.
