Krynn Robinson wins top 4-H Mustang football....
horsemanship award
Krynn Robinson of Heppner
has been awarded the E.L.
"Dad" Potter Medal for
advanced horsemanship, after
completing a demanding set of
10 movements before judge
Ron Davis at the Gilliam
County Fairgrounds.
The award is given only
upon reaching the highest
level of 4-H horsemanship,
with only 310 Oregon riders
having earned the medal since
it was first awarded in 1956.
Krynn becomes the first
Morrow Countian to receive
the award. The medal comm
emorates E.L, Potter, Profes
sor emeritus at Oregon State
University.
The achievement caps a
nine-year commitment to 4-H
horsemanship by Krynn, "It's
a goal I set for myself," she
said. Krynn, who has also
been active in several other
4-H livestock and home eco
nomics programs, will enter
BMCC this fall, majoring in
agribusiness. She hopes some
day to operate a horse ranch.
Krynn collected a carload of
awards during the recent
Wallowa County Fair Open
Horse Show in Enterprise,
capturing first place honors in
seven classes with her Jaeleap
Yearzadeei the reserve high
point horse of the show.
Besides being named high
point junior rider, Robinson
won first place Arabian geld
ing (four and older), stock
seat equitation, western plea
sure (17 and under), bareback
equitation (14-17), versatility,
English pleasure, and the
jackpot western pleasure
championship.
Accompanying Krynn at the
horse show was her mother,
Merlyn Robinson.
