LaMaze class slated A mini-class for expectant parents, taught by Vicki Tollefson of Heppner, will be offered during the summer for parents who want to learn the LaMaze method of childbirth. Four and five week sessions held in July and August will deal with breathing tech niques and exercises used to prepare for childbirth. Persons interested in enrol ling in this course should contact Mrs. Tollefson at 676-9224 or Nancy Brownfield at 676-5039. Details of the class will be available next month. Bookworms review Irving Wallace book, "The Two" At the April 15 meeting of the Bookworm Club, Helen Currin reviewed the 1978 biography "The Two" by Irving Wallace and his daugh ter Amy Wallace. This Simon and Shuster publication was a recent Book Club selection. The account of the lives (life) of the original Siamese Twins who were inseparably tied together at their chests by a thick, fleshy ligament re sembling an arm, five to six inches long and eight inches in circumference, is unique. They were born May 11, 1811, on a bamboo mat in a small houseboat afloat in the river village of Meklong, sixty miles west of Bangkok, the capital of Siam (Thailand). Chang and Eng could swim, perform gymnastic feats and lead "normal" lives. The Wallaces have presen ted a remarkable biography of the extraordinary brothers who adjusted to fame, fought against begin exploited by showmen and promoters, and met many of the famous people of their time in their travels about this country and Europe. 0 Kinzua news Barbara Pike The Kinzua Community Party will be held in Kinzua at Jeffmore Hall on Saturday, May 13. Dinner will be served starting at 6 p.m. Dancing to music played by Verlin Con ner, Don Slinkard, Ray Cody, Robert Cody and Jim Bowler will follow the dinner. The party is being spon sored by Local 2916 LSW, Kinzua Corporation, Eastern Oregon Logging Company and Donald E. Hardwick Logging, Inc. Seven members of the TOPS Kinzua Chapter went to Bend Thursday afternoon to attend the Oregon TOPS Clubs State Recognition Days starting Friday morning at the Inn of the Seventh Mountain. Those attending from the local chapter were Club Leader Marian Tripp, Marg Ball, Helen Graham, Sandra Wil liamson, Lavina Conner, Betty Murdock and Barbara Pike.
