t4 mt FOURTEEN The Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon, Thursday, March 30, 1978 O Lexington news Delpha Jones 989-8189 A recent house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Williams was Mrs. Williams' sister, Roseann Hopkins, of Vallejo, Cal. The trio motored to Kellogg, Idaho last week to visit the ladies' parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Appelberg. Mrs. Hopkins remained there for a visit before flying home later in the week. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Christ man from North Powder and house guests from Wasco recently visited at the home of Betty Christman. Other cal lers there over the Easter holidays were Jean from Boise and Carl from Eugene, each of them returning, home Sunday. Carl is attending school in Eugene. Mrs. Christ- Irrigon news Francis Rose Wilson 922332 The Rev. and Mrs. Tom Muzzio, missionaries to Hong Kong will speak at the Assembly of God Sunday April 2 at 7 p.m. Pastor Allen Gordanier extends an invita tion to all. The Community Sunrise service, held Easter morning on the bank of the Columbia river in the Park, was well attended by the people of Boardman and Irrigon. It was a beautiful clear morning and . most everyone agreed it was worth the effort to get to the early morning gathering. A continental breakfast of sweet rolls and coffee followed at the cafetorium of the school. The children of the commu nity gathered at the Park for the annual Easter egg hunt, sponsored by the Irrigon Lion's Club. Money prizes were given for certain marked eggs. The weather was perfect and a good time was had by all. Hospital Notes Two patients were admitted to Pioneer Memorial Hospital between Tuesday, March 21, and Tuesday, March 28. Both Roy Campbell, Lexington, and Laura Crawford, Condon, re mained patients on Tuesday. BIRTHS The Morrow County stork brought two baby bundles to Pioneer Memorial Hospital last week to celebrate the first days of spring. A daughter named Becky Ann was born to proud parents ' Mr. and Mrs. Steven Ray Wagenblast of Lexington on Wednesday, March 22, at 8:35 am.' She weighed in at 8 pounds, 2V2 ounces, joining a brother and sister in the Wagenblast household. Becky's grandparents are Mrs. Lee Wagenblast, Lexing tori, and rIr. and Mrs. Hans Bardenhagen, Grass Valley. Great-grandparents include Mrs. Carrie Wagenblast and Mrs. Marie Bardenhagen, both of The Dalles. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wayne Thomason of Board man became the proud par ents of a daughter named Barbara Ann on Saturday, March 25, at 7:11 a.m. The wee baby weighed 5 pounds 7 ounces at birth. A brother welcomes Barbara into the Thomason home. Grandparents are Charles C. Thomason, Echo; Mr. and Mrs. John Manning, Board man; and Patricia A. Jones, Burley, Id. Mr. and Mi,d. Tom Bradd of Ontario and Linda VanWinkle of Santa Monica, Cal. were visitors with the girls' par ents, Mr. and Mrs. William J. VanWinkle. Linda returned to Portland Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. John Edwards enroute to her home. Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Messen ger Sr. had as callers Easter Sunday a son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Messenger and girls from Portland; Mr. and Mrs. Zearl Gillespie of Boardman; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Botts and family; and Lois Connors and children from Heppner. Charma Marquardt spent the Easter holidays with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Bill B. Marquardt. A sister, Norita, of Portland was a weekend visitor and the girls returned home together. Mr. and Mrs. Harley Sager and family of Hermiston and Lolita Marquardt of Portland were Sunday visitors at the Carl Marquardt home. Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Jones and Florence McMillan were Her miston visitors Sunday at the Stuart Smith home. Other callers that day were Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Irvin and Billy Irvin of Boardman and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Breeding of Hermis ton. Pat Wright, daughter Sandi, and Mrs. A.F. Majeske were Seaside and Newport visitors last week. They also visited Mrs. Wrights' sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mounts in Portland. Lydia Wilson of Heppner motored to Portland with them to visit a daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Henry M. Breeding. PFC Tamara Hamilton completes training r Private First Class Tamara L. Hamilton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom E. Snyder, Route 2, Irrigon, recently completed a food service specialist course at Ft. Jack son South Carolina. The course trains personnel to prepare and serve food in large and small quantities.
