Homemakers work for library The girls of the Future Homemakers of America chapter at Heppner High School contributed many hours of labor in a community project this spring. They made covers for 38 pillows for the public library children's room. The pillows got their first use this week at the Monday story hour. The girls and their advisor. Linda Panter. were thinking about a service project at the same time the AAUW was developing plans for the decorating of the children's room. The University Women contributed the funds to buy the materials needed for the pillow project. Old pillows that had been collected were restyled and recovered with bright cotton in a patchwork design. Most of the covers have zippers so they can be easily removed to be washed. The colors used were coordinated with the paint used in the room.
