The Heppner branch of tht American Association of Uni versity Women to undertaking project to encourage more Blue Mt. Community College courses to be taught In Morrow County. Morrow County residents pay roughly $179,000 In taxes toward the Community Col lege The branch feels that local taxpayer! could get more for their money if more classes, which people are interested in, rre taught locally. The branch has drawn up a ballot for people to check their Interests on and return to Jeannie Howell. Members will then communicate the desires of the people to BMCC Adult Education and Community Service Section so that classes can be set up. Where there are enough for class, members of the branch will contact those people. In order for a class to be taught there must be 10 people signed up. Anyone can take these classes, including high school students 16 years of age BLUE MOUNTAIN COMMUNITY COLLEGE COURSES that could be taught in Morrow Co. Check those courses you would take. If you can teach any of these courses attach a note indicating courses you would teach. These students may find this a food way to gain a few college credits. Courses vary in length of time, but a course running three hours a night for 10 weeks cost US plus books and materials. This is probably the least expensive way avail able to take a college course. Correspondence courses of fered through the Division of Continuing Education cost about three times as much. Some college credit is avail able for these courses. Credits are dependent on the courses one has taken (through BMCC and the college being trans ferred to.) The AAUW is looking for people who might teach class es as well. A master's degree in the subject area is neces sary only if transfer credit is desired for lower division courses such as history of western civilization, English composition, etc. For the remainder of the courses no degree is necessary, but rather a special knowledge of a particular field of interest. morning -winter afternoon -spring -Phone- Q.
