Many women, hearing Sally Qulnn (CBS' answer to Barbara Walters) remark that she was not about to can any beans because of bot ulism, might just decide to do the same. What Sally didn't know is that 10 minutes boiling de stroys botulism anyway. If that much danger existed, a lot of us wouldn't be here today, because our grand mothers canned loads of beans with apparently few if any ca sualties. Actually, frozen beans are better, and the 15 minutes boiling before serving auto matically eliminates any such problem. But, if you do not have a freezer, by all means can your beans, using proper sterilization methods. For freezing or canning fruit there is a new product on the market called Fruit-Fresh. You can drop the fruit as it is peeled, into water containing a few spoonfuls of the powder, and it doesn't discolor. For their free booklet, write Fruit Fresh Recipe Offer, Dept. FF 73 Box 1467, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15230. Here is a simple but good recipe for pickles: Scrub, dry and pack 3-inch cucumbers closely in four 1-quart sterilized jars, with 1 NOTICE OF SALE OF COUNTY PROPERTY BY VIRTUE OF AN ORDER OF THE COUNTY COURT, DATED AUGUST 23, 1973, I am authorized and directed to advertise and sell at public auction at not less than the minimum price herein set forth: Parcel No. 1 Lots 18, 19 4 20 in Block 35 in the City of Irrigon, Morrow County, Oregon for the mini mum price of $750.00. OF ROSES: Rose Petal Jelly Use fresh (half opened) fra grant roses, preferably red. Half red and half orange shades gives a nice color. Do not use white, pink or yellow, or'you will have green jelly. Dunk whole roses through at least two . bowls of water, keeping it fresh, and put separate petals through two more rinse waters to be sure no tiny mites remain. Pack petals tightly in crock ery or similar heat resistant vessel, cover with boiling water and lid or aluminum foil. Let steep but do not boil, jAYNESj INCOHrUHAl tu ; 332 S. Main P.O.
