Following the service, a pot luck dinner and business meeting was held in the church parlors. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Robin son were Goldendale, Wn.. callers on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Palmer and Mrs. Kennth Marshall were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Kea in Hermiston Sunday. Friends and relatives are invited to a wedding reception Sat., Sept. 29, 1 : 30 to 4 : 30 p.m. honoring Mr. and Mrs. Ken neth Marshall. The reception will be held at the Lexington IOOF Hall, and will be hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Palmer, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Majeske and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Marshall. A caller at the home of Mrs. Elsie Fox one day last week was Bobby Wood, who was enroute to his work at Ante lope from his home in Wenat chee. Mr. and Mrs. Rick Mar quardt and son have returned to their school at Pullman, Wn., after spending the sum mer in Lexington, where he was employed. Mr. and Mrs. Bill B. Marquardt visited them on Monday of this week. Mr. and Mrs. William J. Van Winkle were weekend Port land visitors. Messenger Sr. Thursday afternoon, start ing w ith a pot luck dinner served in the yard at 12:30 p.m. Plans were made for a series of card parties to begin the first Saturday in October starting at 8 p m.'at the IOOF Hall. Contest rules will be the same as the past. One must play four out of six to be elegible for the grand prizes. Prizes will be given and refreshments served at each party. Sewing dates to make arti cles for Pioneer Memorial Hospital were set, and a discussion was held concern ing the fall bazaar and food sale. A committee of Ruth Robinson and Elsie Fox were appointed to select the place and date. The group was reminded of the UN speeches by students attending last year, Thursday evening at 6:30 o'clock in the IOOF Hall. This is a potluck dinner for friends, families and members of the lodges. The door prize was won by Leila Palmer. Co-hostess for the day was Mrs. Charles McConnell. Present were Leile Palmer, Florence Mc Millan. Irene Padberg. Eula Bloodsworth, Catie Padberg, Norma Marquardt, Elsie Fox, Freda Majeske, Delpha Jones, Vivian McConnell, Ruth Rob inson, Betty Marquardt and Mr. Messenger. The next meeting will be at the Irene Padberg home. Christie Jake O'Brien of Echo spent last week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Majeske. Going to Heppner Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Samples and family. Guy Van Arsdale flew to Richland. Sunday on business. Mr. and Mrs. Doyal Hubbell and family went to Milton Freewater over the weekend where they visited Mr. and Mrs. William Eldridge. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Wright went to Walla Walla Friday for eye care for Kirk. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jiggs Bowman over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Allen Bowman of Steveson, Wn. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Elvyn Bell over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Bell of Portland. The Kinzua Community was saddened Monday by news of the death of Mrs. Marvin Hines early Monday at St. Vincents Hospital in Portland. Hildred had had heart surgery there last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Harvy Spivey of Baker were here over the weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dave Mattison and family and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hire and Son. The Camp Five Womens Club held a business meeting Wednesday and decided to have a Hunters Card Party on Sept. 29 at the Camp Five Community Hall. The date for the dance was set for Nov. 17 at the Legion Hall in Fossil. Proceeds from the dance w ill go the Barbara Mortimore Scholarship Fund. Door prizes will be a $25 Savings Bond, $10 gift certifi cate, and a chicken dinner for two. He has spent three and a half years In Spain as a jet mechanic. He has returned to his base In Ft. Webb. Tex., now but expects to be dis charged from the service by Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Russet McCoy, former lrrigon residents, ce lebrated their 40th wedding anniversary by repeating their wedding vows at their home in Vancouver, Wn. Relatives from lrrigon who went to the anniversary party on Sept. 15 included Mr. and Mrs. Al Part low, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Isom, Mr. and Mrs. Don Eppeubaugh and Warren McCoy. From Hermiston were Mr. and Mrs. James Mills and Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Mills. Mrs. Huchatnw traveled to San Jose to welcome her first grandchild, Russel Wayne, born Aug. 28, the son of Mr. and Mrs, Wayne Buchanan. Bruce has been employed at the Ford Motor plant in San Jose this summer and is returning to attend his senior year at O.S.U., Corvallis. Wayne Ruchanan is also employed at the Ford plant.
