Nikander of Ihe Heppner Christian Church officiated. Sacred songs. "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Amazing Grace" were sung by his grandson, Craig Davis of Genesse, Idaho. Herb Fer muntz and his nephew from Laural Wood sang two songs, accompanying themselves on Ukelele and guitar. Casket bearers were Mr. Davis' six grandsons, Evan and Cris Davis. Scott and Kick McDaniel and Keith and Craig Davis. Emmett Davis was born at Piper's Gap, Va., Sept. U, 18H8. He was married to Agues Booth of Azalea, Ore., July 18, 1917. He came to Heppner in 1909 and worked for Arthur Miner several years before moving to Lonerock. They later bought the George Perry ranch in Needle F'ork, anc" raised stock since Ihe early 20s. He was leader of the 4-H sheep blub for five years, served on the school bourd, city council, was a charter member of the Knights of Pythias and an active mem ber of the Lonerock Grange. In addition to his widow, Agnes, he is survived by his three sons, Homer and Car roll, both of Lonerock, and Lee of Genesse, Idaho; one daughter, Blanch McDaniel, Burns. Ore.; a brother, Brooks Davis, Galox. Va.; three sisters. Lelia Fancy. Piper's Gap, Va., Ima Lyons Woodlamin, and Hallie Burchom, Galox, and several neices and nephews. Sam Bellamy is looking forward to playing baseball at Northwest Nnzarene College al Nampa next year. He will enroll there this fall following two years at BMCC in Pendleton. While playing ball at Blue Mountain he was named by his fellow players Most Valuable Player for baseball. He had a .320 batting average. He scored Ihe most runs and had the most stolen bases, and lettered both years. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Bellamy of Heppner. While there they saw Queen Eliza beth who officially opened the stampede. They also loured Banff and came home by way of Edmondton and Jasper National Park. The meeting was called for as a result of HB2439, which calls for a plan for "load curtailment" during emer gencies by gas and electric utilities, but does not spell out any guidelines. The plans discussed at the meeting in Salem on July 12 considered both "peak" and general "load" consideration. Pacific Power & Light Co. has worked up a suggested broad procedure for consid eration.
