The girls were delighted with the gifts. The affair climaxed a sum mer of much entertaining and being entertained They will have this week then swing into a week of Fair and Rodeo frenzy Sisters to Camp Diana and Donna Raymond, daughters of Mr and Mrs. Arnold Raymond, returned home August 12 from an L.D.S CHl'RCH CAMP. They staved a week. It is situated near Seattle about 15 minutes outside of Cle Elum. Diana and Donna both say that they had fun swimming in the river, making frienas. crafts, singing, teaching, and learn ing new things. Next year, it will be at Penland Lake here a Heppner Diana was named the best counselor for girls in the 16 year old group. Donna was named the best junior counselor. There were 130 girls taking part in the summer exercises. Reception for Seehafers A reception in honor of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs W.G. Seehafer will be given by their children from two to five p.m. Sunday August 20th at the Boardman Grange Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Seehafer were married Aug ust 20, 1922 at The Dalles. Oregon. The children are Mrs. Ray Smith 'Margaret) of Baker, Mrs. Charles Vaughn Eulennai of Douglas City. California. Mrs. George Hold erman 'Gladys) of Philomath, Oregon. He was likened to Henry Heppner as he strolled across the stage Carley Bergstrom modeled Fannie Griffith s 1906 high school graduation dress; Cassy Chapel, displayed a navv blue flapper outfit that Elaine Rietmann wore in her first year at college in 1920. Mrs John Venard was stunn ing in a brown and white polka dot outfit of the very early 1900's belonging to John Ve nard's grandmother and high button brown shoes belonging to Delia Scnvner. Donna Peterson's parents, Vic and Jessie Lovgren. strol led out in 1900 costumes; Jessie wearing a beige skirt with white blouse with leg of mutton sleeves, a laced vest and a bonnet Mrs. Lovgren carried Baby Darcie Padberg who was the' evening's young est model in Harlan Mc Curdy 's baby dress. Vic wore a brocade vest and a derby hat MORE GLAMOUR Emert family heirlooms were shown by Ann McElIigott in a 1903 high school gradua tion dress and Missy McElI igott in a 1900 style black blouse which she wore with a flannel skirt from the Carlson family with high button shoes and bloomers. Mrs Bill Rawlins wrote this description of the dress she modeled: "This simple tradit ional wedding dress of lace over satin was worn by Marietta Phillips in 1910 for her marriage to Claud Huston. It was worn again by their daughter Jane Huston 26 vears ago for her wedding to Bill Rawlins at the family ranch home in Eightmile. The gown of net with lace inserts has a high waistline held with a satin cummerbund and streamers. The silk tulle veil, a bit fragile now, is held in place by pink rosebuds. The bridal slippers are of black silk velvet." Jan Peterson and Treve Peterson presented quaint pictures in children's clothes, -Jan in a girl's slip and nite cap, and Treve in an old handmade shirt with belt in back, knickers and a roller derby hat. Cheri Carlson was mighty cute in a night gown and ran and fancv bloomers. which belong to the venarq family. Blaine Cassy Chapel modeled Chapel's chaps and spurs and Clvde Nuttine's boots. The Chapels farmed out on the Hardman Kiage tor vears. ' MORE MODELS Larry Pettyjohn appeared in a swim suit of questionable age from the Carlson family such modesty). Dick wore a striking ves-t and Lynnea looked sweet in a big hairbow, white blouse, and long plaid skirt. The big hat was donated to the queen by Hamlevs. Shauna Bergstrom wore a black wool suit that Delia Scnvner bought in 1917 in Condon and felt so properly clad in at that year's Pend leton Round-Up. The final model was Mrs. Douglas Dubuque in an early 1920 flapper dress trom the Carlson family. What a style show ! After a difficult deliberation the judges announced that Bob Peterson won as best man model; Mrs. John Venard was the winning woman; and Mr. and Mrs. Vic Lovgren and Baby Padberg were the best in the family group classificat ion. New bowling rules were discussed and explained. They bowled in a singles tourna ment Friday night. Bebe was just three points out of the money. On Saturday they attended meetings and in the evening a banquet and dance. While in Salem they stayed with Bebes brother and sister-in -law. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Sherrard at Woodburn. On Monday, they went on to Newport and visited with LaVelle Nelson, former Hep pnente. The survey pointed out that several conditions cause persons to shop outside this area -one of these being the fair. It was agreed that the club memliers would attend the Coronation Ceremony in a group with their husbands.
