Area Days offer all members an experience of larger fellowship, opportunities to get acquainted with District and Regional officers, opportunities to reach beyond their local club levels where they must be under rather constant pressures with projects and reports on projects. Here we can really work at growing In understanding of our organization because we are unburdened with area projects or any very formal organization. Her regional activities include being chair man of the Pooling Com mittee, 1968-70; of the Ser vice Objective Review Com mittee, 1971-72; a Member of the Regional Board, 1970 72; Regional Treasurer, 1970-72. She has attended 9 Regional Conferences. Her Federation and SIA activities include services on the Nom inating Committee, 1972; being a delegate to Federation Conventions at San Diego, 1966, Atlantic City, 1968 and St. Louis, 1970. She attended the SIA Conventions at Tor onto, 1967 and Rome, 1971. Other activities and business experiences include: member American Inst, of Cert. Public Accountants, Amer ican women's Soc. of Cert. Public Accountants, Ameri can Legion Auxiliary. Alice was treasurer of the Epis copal C hurchwomen of East ern Oregon, 1964-67; Presi- VIOLET LANHAM past president (1970-71) and a member of a regional com mittee has lived In Heppner since 1958. She grew up in Illinois and came to Oregon in 1951. She was a super vising teacher at O.C.E. for about five years, until she married Conley Lanbam In 1956. VI has two fine step children, Lt. Colonel Mick Lanham, father of 5 children, and Sandra who bas 2 child ren and is the supervisor of -a children's hospital In San Diego. VI works as counce lor at Heppner High School, but her classification Is based on being co-owner of The Lan ham Apartments, an eleven apartmant building where she and Conley have part of the top floor as their home. VI' s hobbies are outdoor type camping with comforts, de luxe style, and golfing rate high with her. .
