During her high school years, Shlrlee held ninny of the offices of Ruth Assembly and was wor thy advisor In the fall of 15, her senior year at Heppner High school. McKinnons Surprised With Farewell Party Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Charles McKinnon surprised them at their home Friday even ing, March 10. with a farewell party. The McKinnons are ttiov Ing to John Day where they plan to operate a service sta tion. The unexpected guests brought refresh menta of coffee and cake and the crouo of friends enjoyed an evening of cards and Yahtzee. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. McKinnon, Debbie and Dorothy; Mr. and Mrs. Forrest liurkenblne, Alan and Lisa; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Alstott and Dav id; Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Culp and Mr. and Mrs. Don Munk ers, Steve, Dale and Donna. Ireland Theme Used On Sorority Program Program of the March meeting of Beta Omega Chapter of F.psl- lin hlgmu Alpha Sorority of lone -entered around the theme of Ireland. Members met at the home of Mrs. Charles Doherly, vth Mr.i, Don McKlllgott as co hostess. Mrs. Doherty showed slides on Ireland and Scotland, which were taken by Mrs. Doherty's sister whil traveling there. A Scottish lemon butter tart was w rved by the hostesses, In keep ing with the theme. In an election of officers, Mrs. Roy A. Llndstrom was chosen president; Mrs. Ralph Klncaid, vice president; Mrs. Lindsay Klncaid, recording secretary; Mrs. Eugene Dockter, correspon ding secretary, and Mrs. Art Llndstrom, treasurer. It will ho held in the former city li brary building at 8:00 p.m. Prizes Given Away At Saturday Dance A good crowd turned out Sat urday evening to enjoy a lively evening of dancing at the Hepp ner l-eelon hall, sponsored by he local Legion and Auxiliary. Music was furnished by the Quarkenbush orchestra. During Intermission, a com pletely filled linen chest was given away. Winner of the chest was Glenn Smith. Two lamps, given as door prizes, went to Mrs. Clifford Stephen son and Franklin Ely of lone. Proceeds from the chest proj ect will help toward expenses of sending delegates to Girls' and Boys' State conventions this summer.
