There will be a dinner for members of both churches nt 6 p.m. in the Heppner church din ing room Tuesday. March 21. At the dinner Bob Mulkey, assis tant director of development at Northwest Christian College will present n talk on the work of the school and on a new ap proach io Christian estate plan ning. On Thursday. March 23. there will be a candlelight commun ion at the Lexington Christian church. Combined choirs of the Heppner and Lexington Christ ian churches, under the direc tion of Mrs. Fred Hoskins, will present sacred music comple menting scriptual and devotion al readings. BanuelD ...another product from the GrowingWbrld of Death of Father Calls Mrs. Johnson Mrs. Bill Johnson left by air plane from Pendleton Sunday for Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., after . beins; notified Saturday of the i death there of her father, Charles Eugene Hughes, Sr. He, had been in the hospital for about a week and his condit ion became grave Friday. Mr. Hughes had suffered a heart attack In the summer of 1966 and Mrs, Johnson went back there at that time. He had been feeling much better in recent months, however, and his death came unexpectedly. Memorial services were held at Ft Lauderdale Sunday, and funeral services were Wednes day in Gadsden, Okla., where he had lived for years. Mr. and Mrs. Hughes moved to Ft. Lau derdale about 10 years ago. Mrs. Johnson expects to spend some time with her mother at Ft. Lauderdale, and the time that she will return to Hepp ner is not definite.
