Bids Accepted A bid of the Shell Oil com pnny to supply gasoline to the district, being low bid among those submitted was accepted. The company agreed to furnish the gasoline, with state and federal taxes included, to lone and lleppner at .2151 per gal Ion and at Boardman and Irrl gon at .2121 per gallon. Cuy JepjH of llermlston will receive the contract to furnish heating oil as low bidder, offer Ing It at a price of $3.21 per barrel F. O. B. Umatilla. With freight, this would mean a price of to irrlgon and Boaxaman and $3.70 to lone and lleppner. Four county firms submitted bids on supplying anti freeze to the district with prices ranging from $1.38 to $2.00 per gallon. but decision on the matter was tabled until next meting In or der that quality of the various brands might bo checked. He said that the sys- tem will standardize on items from catalog listings to find materials that will "do the Job" to best advantage. A perpetual Inventory is being set up through a card system, and supplies will be cross in dexed through the system. Teacher Released A teacher who had signed a contract to teach social studies and commercial subjects lleppner High school was re leased by the board after con siderable discussion. Albert Loyd of Monmouth had signed the contract but since then had been offered a position In Sa lem at $1700 per year more than the $5200 he would receive here. Supt. David Potter said that releasing Loyd would put the district in a difficult position of finding a replacement at this late date, but said that Loyd had made a trip here to discuss the matter and had not insisted on being released. He pointed out that he has six children to support, however, and needs the additional money. Loyd volun teered to pay expenses Incurred In locating another teacher.
