Teacher Released
A teacher who had signed a
contract to teach social studies
and commercial subjects
lleppner High school was re
leased by the board after con
siderable discussion. Albert Loyd
of Monmouth had signed the
contract but since then had
been offered a position In Sa
lem at $1700 per year more than
the $5200 he would receive here.
Supt. David Potter said that
releasing Loyd would put the
district in a difficult position of
finding a replacement at this
late date, but said that Loyd
had made a trip here to discuss
the matter and had not insisted
on being released. He pointed
out that he has six children to
support, however, and needs the
additional money. Loyd volun
teered to pay expenses Incurred
In locating another teacher.
