SADDLE VS SULKEY The next meeting of the Ore gon State Fair Commission Is ex pected to a very well attended event. Sulkey horse owners have been alerted by a report made by Al LIghtner, director of racing. In answering commission quest ions, LIghtner said harness races were costing the State Fair money each day. "Tracks for harness races and runners are different," the widely-quoted sports writer explained, "and it is difficult to prepare the tracks between times for the different requirements of the two types of races." "If it were put to a vote of the track frequenters, removal of the harness events would be favored overwhelmingly," LIghtner stat ed.
