Notice is hereby given that an election will be held in the des ignated school sub -districts 10, 25, 35, 40, lcj, and 12, of Mor row County, State of Oregon, on May 18, 1959. The election will be held from 2:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. on the above date, being Monday, May 18th, 1959, A- D. Such elections will be held in the school houses in each of the said component sub -districts. The purpose of submitting to the legal voters of said sub-districts, the question of Increasing the tax levy for the fiscal year 1959 60 over the amount limited by Section II, Article XI, of the Con stitution of Oregon. The reasons for increasing such levy are: 1. The low tax base, due to the fact that some districts lost their base entirely and others could only be In creased by the legal allowed 6 per year. 2. Increased costs in maintaining buildings and ma king needed repairs. 3. Increases in teaching and administrative salaries. 4. High cost of supplies and equipment and repairs to some of our older buildings. 5. Amount allowed for purchase of school property. The total base of all sub-dis tricts in the Morrow County School District (operating under the County Unit Plan) is $173, 118.61. Lt and Mrs Bristow are living at Elk City, Oklahoma where he is stationed at Clinton-Sherman Air base. He came with a crew to Moses Lake to get a plane. Mrs E Markham Baker atten ded a 4-H state regional in Port land last week. She is the vice president from this region of the state regional. IONE COOKERETTS The lone Cookeretts held their meeting at the home of Mrs E M Baker, our leader. We had our meeting on April 4 at 1:30. All of us got to cut some vegetables.
