APPENIN6S Norma Jean Geyer And Duane Alderman Married Thursday Mrs Norma Jean Geyer, dau ghter of Rev and Mrs Willis Gey er, and Duane Alderman, son of Mr and Mrs Archie Alderman, were married Thursday evening at the Assembly of God church with the bride's father officiating at the ceremony. The bride was dressed in a yellow ballerina length dress and wore a flowered bandeau hat of yellow roses and forget-me-nots and white accessories. She carr ied white daisies on a white Bible and the church was decor ated with yellow forsythia and pink blossoms. Miss Diane Geyer, dressed in pink, was maid of honor for her sister and Eddie Grosliens serv ed as best man. Members of the immediate families were present. After a short wedding trip the couple is at home in Heppner where they will complete their studies at Heppner high school. Mrs Gribble Holds High Score At Bridge-Luncheon Mrs Clarence Rosewall enter tained Tuesday afternoon with a luncheon at the Elks club and later bridge was played at the Rosewall home. Those present were Mrs Mer vin Leonard, Mrs Jack Bedford, Mrs Floyd Worden, Mrs Frank Turner, Mrs Lowell Gribble, Mrs Frank Hamlin, Airs Robert Pen land and the hostess. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white knit dress with white accessories and a pink carnation corsage. Members of the family were present for the ceremony and a reception was held later at the home of the bride's sister and brother-in-law, Mr and Mrs Ron ald Haguewood. Mrs- Ava Wright, grandmoth er of the bride, poured and the bride's mother cut the wedding cake, which had been made by Mrs Haguewood. Pink and white flowers were used throughout the rooms. Deanne Wright, sis ter of the bride, had charge of the guest book. The bride will complete her senior year at Heppner high school and then the couple will reside in Condon where the groom is stationed at the Air Base. Sans Souci Rebekahs Plan For Initiation The regular meeting of Sans Souci Rebekah lodge was held Friday, March 21 at the IOOF hall. Twenty one members and offi cers attended the meeting. One application for membership by initiation was read for the first time and balloting was held on two other applications. Plans for initiation of a large class of candidates was discuss ed and initiation will be held April 18. Next initiation practice will be March 31 at 7:30 pm. Following the business meet ing the quarterly birthday party was hold with refreshments be ing served by Mrs Frank Ayers, Mrs Roy Quackenbush and Mrs C J D Bauman. Soroptimist Club Has Quiz Program A quiz program on the Easter Seal campaign was held Thurs day bv Sorontimist Internation al of Heppner at their luncheon meeting at O Donnell s with Mrs W C Collins and Mrs James Hag er in charge. Plans were made for the lily sale to be held later in the month and final plans were discussed for serving the food at the Elks teenage party held last Friday evening. Wilsons Entertain With Dinner-Bridge Mr and Mrs Tom Wilson enter tained Saturday evening with dinner and bridge. Guests were Mr and Mrs Frank Anderson, Mr and Mrs William Barratt and Mr and Mrs Gene Pierce. Mrs Pierce held high score and Mrs Anderson low. ! Barbara and Pat Steagall were I euosts of their sister. Miss Dean- ha Steagall during the holidays in Portland. Others visiting her in Portland were Joan Patrick Jimmie Steagall and Lee Corn ileson. Nadine Waddill, Jo Irvin, Betty Obrist, Donald Hunt, Cecil Jones and George Irvin were among those who went to Pendleton on Saturday night to hear the con- testants speeches for the United Nations trio sponsored by the Oddfellows lodge. Mr and Mrs Bob Davidson and children Herbie, Anita and Greg were Pasco and Kennowick vis itors on Sunday. Maureen Groves, who is spend ing spring vacation at the Archie Munkers ranch, was a weekend guest of Dora Sue Davidson. Donald Hunt is spending the spring vacation with his mother Mrs Bertha Hunt. Don Casteel is spending the vacation with his sister and fam ily, Mr and Mrs B J Doherty. Johnnie Damielle and Paul Breeding were The Dalles visi tors on Sunday. Mr and Mrs T E Messenger Sr, of Mitchell and son, Carol were visitors ' last week with their children. Mrs Karl Miller is a patient in Pioneer Memorial hospital. The Women's Fellowship group met last week at the church. It was announced at this time that here were enough coffee bands for the coffee pot. The sick were remembered and devotionals were given by Rev Norman Northrup. Refreshments were served by Mrs Northrup and Mrs Campbell. Marilyn served delicious refreshments as soon as all the girls arrived. After we finished eating, we dis cussed and worked on our perm anent record books. Our meeting was called to or der by Marilyn. Mardine Baker read a letter consisting of our nominating a father for "Father of the Year". We held some dis cussion on this subject and de cided to nominate anyone we thought worthy of this honor. As there was no further business, our meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be Ap ril 3, at the home of Dianne Pettyjohn. We had two vistiors, Peggy and Susan Vooihees of Portland, Oregon.
