In lone Church A bridal shower was given in honor of Mrs Joseph Kalister Sat urady afternoon Jan 25 in the parlor of the lone Community church. Mrs Malcolm McKinney and Miss Judy Mason assisted with the gifts. Refreshments were served from a table decorated with white candles and daffodils. Heppner Women Guests at Lex Home Mrs Mervin Leonard was host ess for two tables of bridge at her home in Lexington Satur day afternoon. Attending were Mrs Raymond Ferguson, Mrs Frank Hamlin, Mrs Edward Schaffitz, Mrs Elaine S George, Mrs P W Mahoney, Mrs Oliver Creswick, Mrs Lowell Gribble, and Mrs Wallace Wolff. Soroptimists See Chemistry Show At the Soroptimist luncheon meeting last Thursday at O'Don nel's , Renn Harris, student ' at Heppner high school, gave a chemistry demonstration. He did tests on different foods to show of what they were composed. Gordon Pratt, principal of the high school, was a guest of the club and the senior girl rep resentative for this meeting was Carol Groshens. REV KNOX ATTENDS LEADERS MEETINGS The Rev Charles Knox attend ed a set-up meeting for church camp leaders in Portland Tues day evening. Benefit Party Set By Triple Link Club Tlans for a benefit Valentine card party to be held Friday, Feb 14, at 8 p m at the I O O F hall by the Triple Link club were arranged at the January meet ing of the group at the home of Mrs Gerald Rood. Funds will be used to help send a candidate on the United Nations tour. Mrs Rood is chairman of the event.
