At that time the following teachers will be In at tendance: Mrs. Alyce Waddill, first and second, returning; Mrs. Juanita Carmlchael, 3rd and 4th, returning; Mrs. Inez Meador, 5th and 6th, returning; and Fred Frledrich who comes from Port land where he is a graduate of Lewis and Clark to teach 7th and 8th. Returning to high school is Dale Waddill as principal, Mrs. Bill Weatherford of Heppner for math and typing, and Bob Math ews as coach, with Miss Betty Oberst coming from Oregon, as the English and girls P.E. teach er. This completes the teaching staff. Mrs. Wm. J. VanWlnkle and Mrs. Ken Marshall are returning as the cooks and Leonard Munk ers as custodian. Mrs. Jack Mounts and son, Stevle are visiting with her par ents. Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Majeske, Mr. and M"rs Harvey Wright and Mrs. A. F. Majeske were vis itors in Eugene last weekend Mr. and Mrs. Roger Campbell and Mr. and Mrs. William Van Winkle are spending some time in Northern Idaho. Mrs. Bert Darnlelle and child ren were visitors In The Dalles over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Don Hatfield and children are vacationing at the coast. In their absence the store is being cared for by David Hat field and Mrs. Leonard Munkers. George Graves of Ephrata, Wash, was a visitor at the home of his sister, Mrs. Leonard Munk ers, last weekend. Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Jones and children and Vanessa Hemery were visitors In La Grande on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Nichols were visitors in Pendleton one day last week. Mrs. Emma Breshears has re turned home from Indiana and way. points where she has been vacationing. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Steagall ore visiting In Lebanon for a few days. i Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Gene Heliker who has been visiting there will re- j turn home with his mother. The executive board of the P-; TA met last week at the home of Mrs. O. W. Cutsforth. Committees for the coming year were ap pointed and the teacher's recep tion was planned with a tenta tive date set for the first Friday in Sept. Refreshments were serv ed to Mrs. Don Hatfield, Mrs. June Cooper, Mrs. Lavonne Blood sworth, Mrs. Bill Parsons, Mrs. B. J. Doherty, Mrs. C. C. Jones, and Mrs. George Irwin and the host ess Barbara Cutsforth. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Martin and family have returned after an extended visit to Southern Cali fornia and Disneyland. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Kilkenny and family and Pat Steagall have re turned from a trip to California. Bobby Davidson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Davidson Is a patient In Pioneer Memorial hospital where he underwent an append ectomy one day last week. This Week's HISTORY MYSTERY 5i Mrs. Keith Tannehill of Portland, and Mrs.. A. R. Cooley of Fresno, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Cowan of Riverside, Calif, left Monday for Seattle and Canadian points, aft er visiting the past week at the home of their daughter, Miss Zel ma Cowan. Boardman Notes Delbert Huston of La Grande is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Potts. Sunday visitors were Potts' aunt, Mrs. Lulu Potts, I and Mr. and Mrs. George Ramsey and granddaughter, Pamela Jean Foster, all of The Dalles. I Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Tannehill j and their guests, Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Cooley of Fresno, Calif., went to La Grande Monday to visit at the home of the Tannehtll's son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Don Tannehill. Miss Zelma Cowan left Tues day morning for the Cannon Beach Youth Bible conference, taking with her Rosina Jones Martin Shattuck and Jim Miller! Barbara Anderegg, who is vaca- tionlng at Long Beach, Wash., in tends to meet them at Cannon Beach. They will be gone for 10 days. Mrs. Sid Ferguson and daugh ter Tracy returned to their home at Couer d'Alene Sunday after vi siting at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnin faug for a week. Ferguson came after them Saturday. Mrs. Clarence Malin and neph ew, Clarence Lyons, of San Fran cisco, have visited the past week i at the home of Mrs. Malin's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Emory Lyons. Mr. and Mrs. Clau,d Coats went to Mitchell Saturday, where Mrs. Coats attended the Grant-Wheel er county postmasters conference They were overnight visitors at tht home of Mrs. Coats' brother- in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs Truman Messenger, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Turner and children Gay, Scott and Jeff, of Philomath visited from Thurs day till Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Black. Mr. and Mrs. George King visit ed their sons, Wayne King and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley King, at Athena Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Henry and daughter Michael Ann of 'Elgin visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey West two days last week. Larry West visited Dick Walk er in Pendleton from Wednesday till Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Smith of Union visited at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Thorpe Monday -and Tuesday on their way home from a trip to the coast and Seattle. Harold Hartle of Pendleton vis ited at the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marlow, Sunday. Mrs. Mar low accompanied him to Wash tucna, Wash., to visit their fath er, W. W. Hartle. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Skoubo last week were Mrs. Skoubo's brother and sister-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. John Luhrs and children Carrie and Dick, and Dick's fiancee, Miss Sharon Woods, all of Corvallis. Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Ely and daughter Eileen went to Heppner Saturday to see Ely's father, H. O. Ely, who is ill In the Pioneer Me morial hospital there. Sunday afternoon the Elys, accompanied by Mrs. R. A. Eades, went to Pas co to visit at the home of Mrs. Eades' son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Woolley. Eileen Ely remained there to visit this week. The Homo Economics club of Greenfield grange met Wednes day of last week at the home of Mrs. Clyde Tannehill, starting with lunch at 12:30 p.m. Co-hostesses were Mrs. Florence Root and Mrs. Roy Ball.
