Erwin Ander son announce the engagement of their daughter .Nancy to Mr. Al bert Parent, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Parent of Corpus Christi, Texas. They are both graduates of Heppner high school and have been attending Eastern Oregon College at La Grande where Par ent will return this fall as a junior. Miss Anderson is now em ployed at the Heppner branch of the First National bank. Rodeo Queen And Court Honored By Soroptimist Club Queen Christine Swaggart of the Morrow county fair and rodeo and her court, princesses Barbara Steagall, Janet Wright, Sharon Cutsforth and Lorena Coder, were special guests of the Soroptimist club Thursday noon at O'Don- nell's. Their mothers and chap erone were also honored. Mrs. Don Heliker, lone chaper- one, introduced the girls and each girl introduced her mother. Mrs. W. C. Collins showed mo vies of past rodeos and parades. Other guests were Mrs. Gerald Swaggart, Mrs. Wilbur Steagall, Lexington; Mrs. Walter Wright, Rhea creek; Mrs. Ronald Haas, Boardman; Mrs. Eddie Gunder son, Mrs. Howard Bryant, Mrs. Jean Mallory, Mrs Ray Ayers, Mrs. Joe Wright, Mrs. Francis Connor and George Clark of Portland. Shower Honors New Arrival From France Mrs. Ronald Kinards and Mrs. Warren Godard entertained Mon day evening at the Kinards home with a household and hospitality shower honoring Mrs. Robert Fer geson who has just arrived from France. The oride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnin A. Hug of Boardman. and the groom is the son of Mr. md Mrs. Lewis W. Bush of Herm iston. The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. P. Sconce, pastor of the First Bapt ist church in Hermiston. The bride wore a light gray suit with white accessories, and a, white carnation corsage. Potluck Dinner Given Baseball Team Mr. and Mrs Leon Ball and Mr. and Mrs. Marcel Jones entertain ed the Bluejays baseball team with a potluck supper at the courthouse park Wednesday ev ening. Mrs. Delmer Hug, sister-in-law of the bride, served the cake, after the first piece wasi cut by the bridal couple. Mrs. Sid Ferguson poured the coffee, and Miss Jean Scott served the punch. . Records were completed and there was discussion of the club's activities for the Morrow county fair and rodeo.
