Auxiliaries Name Delegates For Coming Convocation St. Monica's circles of All Saints Episcopal church held a quarter ly auxiliary meeting Monday night in the Parish hall with twenty six in attendance. The Reverend G. R. S. Little led the group in prayer and Mrs. Lucy Peterson accompanied those present in the singing of a hymn. Delegates to convocation which will take place in The Dalles in April were selected as follows: Mrs. Jack Loyd, Mrs. Robert Fer rell, Mrs. P. W. Mahoney, Mrs. Claude Graham, Mrs. Earl Gil liam, Mrs. James Driscoll, Mrs. R. B. Rice. Alternates are Mrs. George Little, Mrs. LaVerne Van Marter, Mrs. Herbert Hamilton and Mrs. Jack Bedford. Plans were discussed for the card party to be held the first Monday following Easter. Mrs. Walter Wright was elected to complete Mrs. Ferrell's term as president of the auxiliary. Hostesses for refreshments were Mrs. Robert Jones, Mrs. LaVerne Van Marter and Mrs. Gene Hall. o Mrs. Glass Gives Talk To W. S. C. S. The W. S. C. S. met at the Methodist church Wednesday night, March 6 and heard Mrs. Velma Glass give a talk on men tal health. Mrs. Victor Kreimeyer directed a playlet in which the nominat ing committee was named. They are Mrs. Douglas Drake, Mrs. N. D. Bailey, Mrs. Charles Vaughn, and Mrs. Lucille Owens. Devotions were led by Mrs. Emma Anderson. The remodel ling, of a room at the parsonage was discussed. Hostesses were Mrs. Harry Du vail, Mrs. Newt O'Harra and Mrs. Walter Ruggles. Hastings assisted with opening gifts. n USE GAZETTE TIMES CLASSIFIED ADS Rulers night Condon Friday March 22 Ruth No. 32, OES visitation from chapter Future Homemakers Install Officers The Heppner chapter of the Future Momemakers of America recently held an impressive can dlelight installation ceremony in the Heppner high school home, making room. , New officers installed were Joann Brosnon, president; Judy Collins, vice-president; Phyllis Quackenbush, secretary; Jean Collins, treasurer; Connie Ander son, parliamentarian; Janice Martin and Carole Ann Anderson, degree chairmen; Fern Albert, recreation leader and Marlene Griffin, reporter. Chapter mother selected for the year was Mrs. Jerry Brosnan with Mrs. Roy Quackenbush as her assistant. Preceeding the installation a film on electrical appliances titled Future Unlimited was shown. Dale Soden of Spokane gave a talk on appliances to about 50 girls and their mothers. Mrs. Homer Hager was pre sented two vases by Karen Val entine in appreciation of her as sistance to the chapter during the past year. Joann Brosnan and Phyllis Quackenbush presided at the punch bowl assisted by Wilma Bothwell and Roseann Ayers. Methodist WSCS to Host Sub-District Council Meeting The Women's Society of Chris tian Service met March 6 at the Methodist church and arrange ments were made for the meet ing in Heppner on March 28 of the Blue Mountain sub-district council. Women from Milton Freewater, Hermiston, Echo, Pen dleton and John Day will attend, the committee in charge of the meeting will be Mrs. Whitmer Wright, Mrs. Mattie Green and Mrs. Harry Duvall. Plans were made to start re modeling the second floor of the parsonage and it was announced that a basement room in the church has been completed except for painting. Mrs. Douglas Drake, Mrs. Charles Vaughan, Mrs. N. D. Bailey and Mrs. Lucille Owens were appointed on a nominating committee. Election of officers will be held at the next meeting. A skit on nominations was pre sented by Mrs. Harry Dinges, Mrs. Green, Mrs. Vic Kreimeyer Mrs. Ruth Wright, Mrs. Velma "Glass and Mrs. Lester Boulden. Mrs. Velma Glass gave a talk on mental health particularly as it pertains to the church and Rev. Boulden spoke briefly on what the church is doing to train ministers. The worship service was led by Mrs. Emma Anderson and the meeting conducted by the presi dent, Mrs. Carl McDaniel. n Mrs. Knox Hostess For Church Group The Christian Womens' Guild of the Christian church met Wed nesday night of last week at the home of Mrs. Charles Knox. Mrs. Ben Tarrell was program leader and the topic was Thai land and Southeast Asia. Mrs. Joe Hughes led the devotions. The hostess served refresh ments to the twenty three mem bers present. Epsilon Sigma Alpha Aids Red Cross The Beta Omega chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha met at the home of Mrs. Rosetta Palmateer Wednesday evening March 6 with Mrs. Eunice McElligott as co hostess. $111.00 was taken in for the Red Cross in lone. Mem bers soliciting were Mrs. Betty Rietmann, Airs. Irene Leathers, Mrs. Mary McLeod, Mrs. Mary Jean McLeod and Mrs. Francine Crawford. A traveling food sale will be given by the sorority April 20 beginning at 10 a. m. "Food will be taken from door to door in a station wagon and sold. The Easter Lily sale for the crippled children is sponsored by the group with Mrs. Gladys Heliker and Mrs. Mary McLeod in charge. Mrs. Heliker showed her pictures on her trip to the Hawaiian1 Islands. LEGION JUNIOR AUXILIARY TO INITIATE Initiation for the Junior Ameri can Legion Auxiliary will be held at the regular meeting on Tuesday, March 19 at 7:30 p. m. at the Heppner Legion hall. Elks Ladies Night Party Held Thursday Mrs. William Labhart won first prize in bridge at the Elks Ladies Night party last Thursday. Mrs. Ned Sweek was second high and in pinochle, Mrs. O. W. Cutsforth was high and Miss Marilyn Berg strom, second. The door prize went to Mrs. LaVerne Van Mar ter. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Lester Wyman, chairman, Mrs. Pat O'Brien.Mrs. C. E.
