A Peach Shortcake served with the smooth, rich-tasting', summer pour-on, maple-blended syrup, is iust the thing for gals who theorize "time's a'wasted in the kitchen when friends get together for a visit." The cake itself, if made with a mix, can be baked quickly in the morn ing. Then right before refreshment time, add the peaches. The syrup goes right to the table; it pours so easily and its bottle makes an attrac tive addition to the table. You'll find this syrup a popular pour-on for ice cream and puddings, too. Here is the recipe for "Maple Peach Shortcake". . , remember you can't beat it as a lazy, day dessert.
