With Farewell Party
A farewell party was held at
the I. O. 0. F. hall in Hardman
August 24, honoring Mrs. Victor
Lovgren who is moving to Can
ada soon.
The afternoon was spent play
ing games with prizes being won
by Mrs. Adrian Bechdolt, Mrs.
Harold Wright and Miss Alta
Stevens.
Mrs. Lovgren was presented
with a money tree from her
friends and neighbors.
Hostesses were Mrs. Claud
White, Mrs. Walter Wright and
Mrs. Huston Lesley.

Cutsforth's Park at noon Monday
The Rev. and Mrs. Clark and
family left immediately after for
Kcnnewick, Washington where
he is to conduct services. They
will b? entertained by Mr. and
Mrs. Neal Knighten while in the
Washington city.
Many members of the church
in Heppner entertained for the

ing. Then right before refreshment time, add the peaches. The syrup
goes right to the table; it pours so easily and its bottle makes an attrac
tive addition to the table. You'll find this syrup a popular pour-on for
ice cream and puddings, too.
Here is the recipe for "Maple Peach Shortcake". . , remember you
can't beat it as a lazy, day dessert.
Maple Prach Shortcake
b package (2U cups unsifted) 1 egg, unbeaten
instant yellow cake mix Fresh peaches, sliced
cup water Maple-blended syrup
Measure cake mix into small bowl. Add water and egg. Beat 2 min
utes until smooth and creamy. Tour batter into 8x8x2-inch square pan,
which has been lined on bottom with paper. Bake in moderate oven
(3jOF.) 30 to 35 minutes. Cool cake; then split into two layers. Spread
sliced peaches between layers and on top of cake. Cut in squares and
pour syrup over each serving.
