William Garner was appointed publicity chairman for the month, and Ray Anderson was appointed to see about membership cards and a motto for the club, to be reported orrat the next meeting. There will be a special meeting of the club on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 8 p. m. at the school cafeteria. There will be a short business meeting, with the rest of the evening for entertainment. Each member is to bring a guest, and all others are welcome to attend the meeting. Object is to ex plain the aims and ideals of the club, and try to get more people interested. The grade school operetta, "The Heart of the Forest", was present ed Friday night in the school gymnasium. Following the opertta a movie was shown by Ray Anderson, "Tlte Long Way Home", sponsor ed by the Community Chest. Ray Anderson, school superin tendent; Dewey West and Willard Baker, school directors; and Mrs. Margaret Thorpe, school clerk, all went to Condon Friday to attend a joint meeting of superinten dents and school board members from Morrow, Gilliam, Sherman and Wheeler counties. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Miller went to Portland last week to at tend the state convention of county officials. Greenfield grange met Satur day night at the hall, starting with a potluck supper at 6:30. Mrs. Joe Tatone was hostess, as sisted by Mrs. Leonard Bedord and Mrs. Ed Kunze. Officers were elected for the next year as follows: Mrs. Eva Briggs, master; Ralph Skoubo, overseer; Mrs. Alice Tatone, lecturer; Max Van noy, steward ;Nathan Thorpe, as sistant steward; Mrs. Leola Tan nehill, chaplain; Mrs. Maude Brown, treasurer; Mrs. Florence Ceres: Mrs. Myra Skoubo, Po mona; Mrs. Edith Partlow, Flora; Mrs. Margaret Thorpe, lady as sistant steward; Cecil Hamilton, executive committee for three years; Mrs. Mary Lee Marlow, musician. It was voted to have a Christ mas party at the December meet ing on December 18, with ex change of gifts.
