In the final drive to pass the local $375.00 goal, the minister said, members collected $441.0X3 last week from friends and neigh bors of the community. "The successful conclusion of our ap peal," he declared, "was made possible by a community that has proved itself interested in the well-being of its fellowmen, re gardless of race, nationality, or creed." He pointed out that the funds received would be used with equal indiscrimination for the betterment of mankind. Last year's appeal throughout North America brought in $3, 715,000 pastor Becker stated. To I this amount members added from their own pockets $50,000,000 to support church as well as mis sion, medical, educational, and welfare work in 197 countries of the world. JOLLY CHEFS The Jolly Chefs cooking ITI club met at Baker's April 2d. We all got some bread ready to go in the oven. The girls cooked the dinner that evening. We discussed about our Moth er's dinner. We decided to have it at Ilowton's May 22. The girls are going to fix the dinner and put on entertainment. We also talked some about the 4-H judg ing day which is May 15. Ann Belle Coleman, reporter BUSY STITCHERS The Busy Stitchers I II club met at Patsy and Janet Wright's on Saturday May 8. Eight members were present and four absent. Most of the girls worked on corded button holes and collars and cuffs. Those going to 4-H summer school are trying to get their dresses finished so they can model them there. Mildred Wright, our leader, passed out information on the Home Sewing contest sponsored by the Wool Growers Association. She also gave us some patterns of different accessories to make.
