Collins was elected the new president of the Sorop timist club at their regular monthly business meeting on Thursday at O'Donnell's. The other officers elected were vice president, Mrs. E. E. Gonty; re cording secretary, Mrs. Philip Blakney; corresponding secretary, Mrs. Floyd Adams; treasurer Mrs. Grace IViekerson; on the board of directors, Mrs. Loyal Parker and regional representative, Mrs. W. O. George. One more project is planned for this year and that will be a card party some time close to June 14. The members of the lone high school Girls' League staged a mock wedding with Julie P.ietmann Lexington Garden Club Holds Meeting In Pendleton Twenty members of the Lex ington Garden club met Tuesday for their regular meeting which opened with a potluck luncheon! at Stillman park. Following the luncheon the playing the wedding marches and group went to the home of Mrs. Mrs. Geo Drake playing the piano during the evening. Mrs. Tad Miller and Mrs. Ro bert Rietmann assisted with the gifts and Lona White, Marilyn Morgan and Sharon Crabtree passed the gifts around. Minia ture wedding cakes were served fro ma table decorated with lily of the valley and Mrs. Wylie Knighten, mother of Miss Knigh ten, and Mrs. Karl Miller poured. Miss Knighten is the bride elect of Jack Miller and the wedding will be in June. Hostesses were Mrs. Garland Swanson, Mrs. Victor Rietmann, Mrs. Earl McKinney, Mrs. Lloyd George Peek for their meeting. A Maypole centerpiece was made and loaned by Mrs. Hilda Bent and Mrs Ellen Way and plans were made for a garden tour on May 18 and the flower show in June.
